“Il Nido” tells the story of a small village, which is visited each year by hundreds of pilgrims and religious tourists, being the location of several alleged appearances of the Virgin Mary. However, the village has a dark past, as a crime committed by a group of children has been dismissed and buried for decades. Now the victim’s brother has come back, and is ready to take revenge at any cost. People in the village start having visions and dreams, which are hardly distinguishable from reality.
The result is a confusing and unsatisfactory experience, which is certainly not helped by the very bad performances of the overall mediocre (if not terrible) cast.
